Cultural Heritage and Museum training program

Within the framework of the Cooperation Program between the Italian and the Syrian government, the Centre for International Studies on Economic Growth (CEIS) of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” has been awarded a grant to implement a major training program for the technical and managerial staff of the Syrian Directorate General of Antiquities and Monuments (DGAM). The program, based both on traditional and e-learning techniques, follows a planning study on museum policies from CEIS and the elaboration of a comprehensive training master plan. Within the context of the exceptionally valuable patrimony of Syrian heritage, it aims to develop local skills and expertise in the broad areas of cultural economics and the management of museums and archaeological sites.
