Alessandro Piergallini is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", where he teaches Advanced Macroeconomics, Macroeconomic Theory and Policy, and Microeconomics. His research is concerned with monetary and fiscal policies. He has published articles in Macroeconomic Dynamics, Economic Inquiry, the Journal of Population Economics, Economics Letters, the International Journal of Economic Theory, the Berkeley Journal of Macroeconomics, and Applied Economics.
He is Member of the Academic Board of the Ph.D in Economics, Law and Institutions at "Tor Vergata" University, the Euro Area Business Cycle Network, the Italian Economic Association and the Scottish Economic Society.
He holds a magna cum laude degree in Political Sciences at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", an M.Sc. in Economics with distinction and a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".
He has been Visiting Ph.D. student at the Pompeu Fabra University and at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies. He has been Research Fellow in Financial Studies at the Centre for Financial and Management Studies of the University of London. He has advised the Fiscal Policy Division of the European Central Bank.
