                                              June 26-28 , 2012

In the past twenty-three years, the seminar has provided an exceptional opportunity to discuss the most topical issues in economic research. The quality of scientific contributions and debates has been exceptional due to the participation of outstanding scholars.
We are pleased to announce that the upcoming edition of the seminar will focus on "Public debt, governance and economic dynamism" and will take place in June 26-28, 2012 .
Public debt is becoming an increasingly difficult challenge for the world’s economy, particularly Europe.
Productivity has been growing at a very low rate. Economic governance has not yet become effective in Europe.
Markets are dominated by financial instability. Is it the result of the high level of debt reached in many countries or is it to be linked to insufficient economic dynamism?
E. Phelps advocates the need for a good economy, an economy in which inclusion, engagement, innovation and creativity, tend to prevail.
The conference will be devoted to discuss the above mentioned issues.

To that purpose I would like to submit the following topics to your attention:

1.  Productivity gap between Europe and United States

2.  Public debt challenge: spending cuts and tax increases

3.  Fragile banking system and sovereign debt crisis

4.  Emerging countries, demography and  economic growth

5.  Eurozone debt crisis , ECB and Governance

6.  Can uncertainty cause a double-dip recession?

7.  How does excessive debt affect growth?

8.  Innovation, creativity and dynamism

9.  A new paradigm for economic dynamism: the Phelpsian “good economy”

10. What is holding Italy back?

11. Employment and social dimension in the context of economic growth

12. Fiscal consolidation, Governance ad Growth in EU

13. Financial Crisis and Sustainable development

14. Innovation, green economy and development
