Memorial Lecture for Vittorio Santaniello

 ICABR will host a special Lecture for Professor Vittorio Santaniello, who started the conference in 1996. The lecture will take place on June 18th, 2009 and will be followed by a cocktail offered by CEIS.

The lecture will be given by Odin K. Knudsen, Managing Director of Environmental Markets in J.P. Morgan. The title of the lecture is "Turning Black Swans Green: Distress Economics and Biotechnology"

ODIN K. KNUDSEN is Managing Director of Environmental Markets in J.P. Morgan where he is Head of Global Origination. In this role, he is managing a global carbon emissions reductions business for J.P. Morgan that covers all major markets with teams situated around the world.
Odin has more than 30 years of experience in sustainable development and international finance. As Deputy Vice President and Senior Advisor in the Environment and Socially Sustainable Development Network in the World Bank, he was a driver of policy and strategy for the World Bank in agriculture, environment, climate change and carbon emission reductions markets. As former Senior Manager of the Carbon Finance Business at the World Bank, he grew transactions from $140 million to over $ 1 billion with nearly $ 2 billion of funds under management in the CDM and JI market. He also was Joint CEO and President of two start-up companies in the carbon space. These companies assisted clients in meeting the risks and demands of climate change and emerging carbon markets. He is also occasional lecturer at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and was a Visiting Professor at the University of Rome La Sapienza.
Odin has a Ph.D. in Applied Economics, two Masters Degrees and a Bachelor Degrees in Engineering from Stanford University. He also has executive management and financial training from the Harvard and Stanford University Business Schools. He is author of several books and over thirty articles on various aspects of sustainable development and real options theory.
