Objectives The aim of the pre-conference is to provide firm knowledge of theory and experience in agriculture biotechnology economics and regulations. At the end of the course, the participants should have a clear understanding of the economics of agriculture biotechnology. Participants will gain experience in how economic theory can be used to analyze benefits and costs of agriculture biotechnology at different levels. Finally, participants will get acquainted with recent developments in regulatory issues in agriculture biotechnology. Faculty

Justus Wesseler Location CEIS - University of Rome "Tor Vergata" Participants The target group are science managers, policy advisers and PhD-students on science and innovational issues that operate in the public and in the private sector. Scholarships A limited number of scholarships is available for applicants from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries made available by CTA. Applicants, applying for a scholarship should send a curriculum vitae and a one page motivation letter by email to Vittorio Santaniello (icabr@economia.uniroma2.it) before April 30, 2005. Acceptance letters will be sent out by May 28. Pre-conference fees: The fee is 1270 EUR for participants attending the pre-conference workshop and ICABR conference and 900 EUR for the pre-conference only. Participants can book a full board participation (accommodation plus food) for additional 1490 EUR for the pre-conference and conference including transport Rome-Ravello-Rome. Cancellations may be made free of charge until 1 month before the start of the pre-conference. After this date the charge will be 50% of the fee paid or due. Registration
